Harpie's Voice

Harpies are a race of fierce, carnivorous, feminine humanoid beast-women with the wings of a bird. They are a common nuisance around the Iliac Bay area, particularly in Lainlyn, but are found wherever there are rocky cliffs and crags suitable for their nests. They also build their nests in abandoned ruins.  While their maniacal nature makes them somewhat less-than-brilliant tacticians, their sharp talons and frenzied behaviour often force kingdoms to abandon lands to their use. Mercenary groups like the Fighters Guild are sometimes hired to clear out harpy nests for groups that pass through their territory, such as travelling merchants. Harpy feathers are very valuable, prized by tailors and quill merchants alike. Harpy down can be spun with fine sheep's wool to make a sturdy material for mages' robes. Harpies tend to smell foul.  Harpies have a reputation as furious creatures who kidnap, mate with, and kill human males.

Concept Flaw:
Should the Matriarch die, the clan concept will be lost and the Harpies will go their separate ways.  Harpies are extremely territorial and will not tolerate anyone living within one grid square of their nest.  Should an egg be stolen from their nest, a Harpy will become obsessed with finding it and will do anything to secure the eggs safety once again.  Harpies also do not wear armour, therefore they rely on their thicker hide and skin to protect them.  Due to their desire to solely protect their flock, they gain -2 Intelligence.  Harpies do not use weapons, they prefer to use their clawed hands and the talons on their feet. These natural weapons tend to be infected, dealing poison damage.

Requirements:

Though harpies consider themselves one great flock, individual clans may vary greatly in size. No more than four harpies per clan (Max of TWO clan concepts at a time).  They possess sleek, feathered wings with a modified claw, and powerful taloned legs. Harpies have a soft feather down that covers their bodies. They have a mane of hair on the top of their heads that is frequently styled and adorned. The tail and wings of a harpy have large feathers which may be in a variety of colours, textures, and patterns.

Their preferred habitats are rocky cliffs, crags, and abandoned ruins where they establish their nests, making these environments their natural dwelling places. Playing as a Harpy character would involve navigating the challenges of existing within these terrains while dealing with their inherent wilderness and survival instincts.

The clan may choose one player to become an Matriarch. The Matriarch will be slightly stronger than a typical harpy.
