Trolls are large, ape-like, dim-witted humanoids endowed with three eyes. Their powerful arms and claws can deal massive amounts of physical damage. Trolls are found all over Tamriel, mostly in caves and forested areas. The Frost Troll found at higher elevations is a stronger cousin of its lowland variety.
Other varieties include Swamp Trolls, River Trolls, Cave Trolls, Forest Trolls, and Lowland Trolls.Trolls are known to sometimes grow to tremendous sizes, and were much larger and more powerful during the chaos of the Dawn Era.
Trolls are very territorial and very dangerous. At times trolls can be seen alone, typically hunting a specific ground they have claimed as their own.
Though they are not smart by any means, they are not without any intelligence. They have both language and the ability to write, and at times can be seen in groups with others.
Trolls should be played as aggressive toward the common races, and find some form of relation with the other creatures of Tamriel. They cannot speak any of the Common Languages, nor do they possess the capability to learn them.

Lore & Description
Trolls regenerate themselves quite quickly, an ability that is only annulled if exposed to fire. In some cases their regeneration prevents their death completely, making the scorching of their corpses the only way to truly kill them. Trolls are found all over Tamriel, mostly in caves and forested areas. The Frost Troll found at higher elevations is a stronger cousin of its lowland variety. Other varieties include Swamp Trolls, River Trolls, Cave Trolls, Forest Trolls, and Lowland Trolls. Weak trolls are sometimes known as Trollkin. Trolls are known to sometimes grow to tremendous sizes, and were much larger and more powerful during the chaos of the Dawn Era.
Trolls seem to be capable of basic literacy. They dislike water and do not swim. They sometimes organize themselves into what might be primitive tribal structures, such as the Azhklan or the caliper-obsessed Kalperklan. Trolls are often trained and armored for use as war beasts, with some trolls using cestuses as weapons. Powerful mages are known to use trolls as guardians. However, trained trolls that are mistreated or left alone for too long will return to the wild, forgetting that their owner ever even existed. Troll Fat is commonly used in alchemy, and troll skulls are popular hunting prizes. Nords make use of trollbone as a material for crafting armor. The Coldsnap Tribe of Rieklings wore troll fur for warmth.
The origin of trolls is completely unknown. Troll infestations can often be traced back to a troll mother, a particularly powerful female who may have moved into the area. Eliminating the mother is an effective means of ending the threat, although the individual trolls will still need to be hunted down. The "Udefrykte" is a name given to legendary trolls, who are the spawn of the mythical Uderfrykte Matron. The Matron was killed in 3E 433, ending her line. Painted Trolls are a strange form of troll created by the Brush of Truepaint, famed for the alchemical properties of their fat. The rarely-seen Grahl are sometimes called "ice trolls", although they bear little resemblance. In 2E 582, the Iron Orcs of Craglorn fell under the influence of the Celestial Serpent. By infusing the skin and armor of trolls with nirncrux, the Iron Orcs hoped to unlock their Dawn Era potential and raise an army of giant primordial trolls.
This operation was sabotaged before very many trolls could undergo the procedure, although smuggling these nirncrux-infused trolls out of Craglorn seemingly continued. Circa 4E 201, the Dawnguard tamed trolls native to Skyrim and used them in their crusade against vampires.
Appearance
Trolls are imposing and formidable creatures with a distinctive physical appearance. Standing at an impressive height, trolls tower over most humanoid races, their average size ranging from nine to twelve feet tall. Their bodies are muscular and robust, exuding raw strength and power. The sheer mass of their frame is emphasized by their broad shoulders and thick limbs, giving them a formidable presence.
Covering their bodies is a coarse and matted fur, which varies in color from shades of brown and gray to a sickly greenish hue, depending on the specific troll subspecies. This unkempt fur is often riddled with dirt and grime, as trolls are known to dwell in caves and forested areas. Their fur serves as both protection against the elements and camouflage in their natural habitat.
The head of a troll is characterized by a large, elongated skull, with a prominent forehead and a pronounced brow ridge. Their eyes are small and beady, usually glowing with a menacing yellow or red hue. Trolls possess a set of sharp and jagged teeth, their mouths filled with formidable fangs that can easily tear through flesh and bone. These fearsome teeth are complemented by razor-sharp claws that grow rapidly, providing the trolls with formidable natural weapons.
Despite their size and bulk, trolls exhibit surprising agility and speed. Their muscular physique enables them to move swiftly and silently, making them formidable hunters and ambush predators. Trolls are also known for their incredible regenerative abilities, allowing them to heal wounds rapidly. However, fire poses a significant threat to trolls, as it can nullify their regenerative powers and cause severe harm.
